The ATL is no stranger to a drone show. Who can forget Steve Harvey’s face projection in the city’s skyline that went viral during Invest Fest? This season, another ode to the innovative aerial entertainment is about to illuminate one of the city’s popular stages with The Drone Saga in Atlanta. Blending technology with artistry, talented dancers pirouette with grace and elegance accompanied by color-changing drones.
This modern take on a dance show will be held at the Conant Performing Arts Center in Ogelthorpe University on select dates over the coming months. The Brookhaven stage is known for spotlighting phenomenal artists and this season, it will be no different — well, maybe slightly different. Besides the experienced ballerinas, the stars of the show will also be synchronized light-emitting drones. It’s a multisensory experience unlike any other and you won’t want to miss it.
What is The Drone Saga?
The Drone Saga is a luminous show that takes elements of traditional ballet and fuses them with state-of-the-art drone technology. Over the course of 60 minutes, these coordinated little devices move gently and radiate color-changing light around six talented ballerinas, accompanied by a soul-stirring soundtrack. Each color expresses a distinct emotion, only to be amplified by the dancers’ precise arabesques and extensions.
Drones, their use and the show
Drones have already become part of our everyday life, whether it’s for personal use or by revolutionizing the fields of medicine and agriculture. However, as crazy as it may sound, these automated machines can also be used creatively, pushing the boundaries of artistic expression. At The Drone Saga, they effortlessly float around the dancers and mirror their choreography, helping to tell a story through movement.
Prepare to step into a world of movement and emotions at The Drone Saga in Atlanta! Whether you’re a fan of ballet, are interested in groundbreaking technology, or are looking for a fun evening out, this dazzling dance and light show is coming to Conant Performing Arts Center and you won’t want to miss it.
