Keep scrolling to get all the details!
What is ‘This is Now’?
‘This is Now’ is a show of art and resistance, situating Atlanta’s story within a broader global context through community-focused work.
Part of their curatorial statement reads,
Art can play a vital role in responding to political moments, but access to art’s histories, narratives, and cultural significance is too often limited to institutional spaces and a small number of gatekeepers. As a result, art becomes disconnected from the communities and conditions it should address. This moment requires work that is responsive and grounded in lived experience.
As one of the major Civil Rights hubs of the world, Atlanta is uniquely positioned to host powerful shows like this.
