While everyone is familiar with the tragic story of the RMS Titanic, most of us have probably gotten the bulk of our information from James Cameron’s 1997 blockbuster Titanic.
And though Cameron went to great lengths to portray life aboard the ship and the sinking accurately, there have been countless breakthroughs in what we know about the ship since 1997.
Titanic: An Immersive Voyage takes a deep dive into all that we know about the ship’s life, including its creation, departure, life aboard, the voyage itself, the steam machine powering the liner, the boiler room, and more.
When it comes to the sinking, the exhibit breaks down the event into the flooding, sinking, and aftermath, with a moving memorial to the lives lost towards the end. You’ll even be able to put on VR goggles to travel beneath the waves to the ocean floor to see Titanic’s wreckage for yourself.
Titanic: An Immersive Voyage is an experience suitable for all ages, and you can expect it to last between 60 and 90 minutes.
This powerful exhibit opens this summer at the Exhibition Hub Atlanta Art Center (5660 Buford Highway Northeast) in Doraville. Tickets for Titanic: An Immersive Voyage go on sale June 18, but join the waitlist today to get yours early!
