It’s 8pm on Wednesday, April 15, 1874 and a very important event just took place on Paris’ iconic Boulevard des Capucines. Around 30 painters, including Monet, Pissaro and Renoir, came together in photographer Nadar’s studio to present new artworks outside the official Salon. Today, we know this to be the first ever Impressionist exhibition.
At Tonight With The Impressionists, this fated night comes back to life in 3D virtual reality, allowing you to step 150 years back in time to experience the work of these rebellious artists before they were considered legends.
After taking in the pivotal exhibition, Tonight With The Impressionists takes you to Bazille’s studio — where the very idea of the art movement was born — l’Île de la Grenouillère, where Monet and Renoir painted, and le Havre, witnessing Monet create his famous Impression, Soleil Levant (Impression, Sunrise) painting.
Paris — and beyond — comes to life during this immersive experience that just opened in ATL.
