Relive the start of impressionism
As soon as you put on that headset, it’s 8pm at Boulevard des Capucines. Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, Degas and others assemble to present their oeuvre for the very first time. Anticipation fills the air as these provocative and visionary pieces are unveiled to the public — outside of an official art Salon.
Tonight with the Impressionists takes you beyond the exhibit as well, to places that influenced the movement’s very beginnings.
Wander through Salon de peinture et de sculpture and Frédéric Bazille’s studio — where the idea for impressionism was born — and walk through the Île de la Grenouillère to witness Monet and Renoir painting together in harmony. Last but not least, you’ll be transported to Le Havre, where Monet painted the iconic ‘Impression, Soleil Levant’ (‘Impression, Sunrise’).
The mesmerizing VR experience grants us a deeper look into the lives of history’s most famous artists. You don’t want to miss it!
