We’ve got extraterrestrials on the brain right now, since Phoebe Bridgers is in the middle of a super secret pop-up tour… to towns with a known extraterrestrial history!
After a surprise show in Macon on Saturday night, we’re wondering… which area is next? Well, Phoebe, we’ve got a recommendation for ya: Georgia’s (and Alabama’s) super mysterious Troup-Heard Corridor: the Bermuda Triangle of the South. Keep scrolling to learn more.
The Troup-Heard Corridor

According to Troup County Archives, In 1938, a young man saw a “domed saucer with portholes” in broad daylight in Southwest LaGrange… and it was flying at, what he claims, a speed of over a thousand miles per hour.
From then on, sightings continued… a domed flying UFO was spotted in the early 1950s, and again in the early 60s… and 80s… and… you get it.
From typical ‘Hollywood’ style UFOs to flashing lights and paranormal sightings, “Extraterrestrial craft are spotted often and alien entities, including inter-terrestrial beings, have been occasionally encountered.”
The Troup-Heard Corridor is a very large, very rural area. According to The Troup County Archives,
Sandwiched between the Fall Line to the south and the Brevard Fault line in the north, the THC presents an isolated rural setting. Stretching from east-to-west for approximately 120 miles and south-to-north for 70 miles, the Corridor encompasses an area slightly larger than Massachusetts.
Cryptid activity in the Troup-Heard Corridor

It’s not just UFO sightings in the Troup-Heard Corridor, however. This has also been a hotspot for ghost folklore and even Bigfoot sightings.
Where are the most UFO sightings in Georgia?

But the most UFO sightings in the state? That’s right here in Atlanta!
According to the National UFO Reporting Center, Atlanta has the highest number of UFO sightings in the state, at around 170 reports.
And hey, whether you’re a believer in cryptids, ghosts, and UFOs or not, it can still be fun to learn about the paranormal history of an area… especially if that means Phoebe Bridgers might stop by!
