What is the Riverview Hobbit House?

Brought to you by the same creative minds behind Atlanta’s Alpaca Treehouse, Riverview Hobbit House is an ambitious, fantasy home, tucked away in the secluded Riversong Forest in Newell, Alabama.
Here’s what the minds behind Hobbit House have to say about this one-of-a-kind stay,
Designed to look like a European castle on the interior, our underground LOTR retreat offers a luxe marble bath, granite kitchen, vintage art, tapestries, tiles, round doors/window and antiques. You’ll feel like royalty in the hand painted 1880s bed. Enjoy amenities like pizza oven, firepit, griddle, and outdoor clawfoot tubs.

The owner continues,
The round door is one of my favorite things and the steel hardware was custom crafted by Simone Wilson, a talented artist located in Atlanta.
You might have to duck to sneak into the Hobbit House, since it’s made Hobbit sized… but once you’re inside, you’ll find a much larger bedroom and living room!
Crafted with 140-year-old bricks and indigenous stones from the property, and a majestic view of the beautiful river, this spot will make you feel like you’re one with nature!
What can you do while you’re staying at Riverview Hobbit House?

Other than enjoying the cozy Hobbit House itself, there’s so much to do around the area! Here are some of our favorites:
- Star gazing without the light pollution of the city
- Kayak or canoe down the Little Tallapoosa/Lake Wedowee. (Put in at Lamar Bridge, up river, and take out at the beach. Will need two cars.)
- Swim in the river or deep holes in Wolf Creek
- Soak in the Claw Foot Tubs with a view of the river
- Take a hike around the 100 gorgeous acres to explore
- Check out the Muscogee/Creek Indian Trail Tree: Located down at the confluence where Wolf Creek meets the river/lake is a tree bent using a heavy stone to point the native peoples to special places of important. A confluence was a sacred spot for weddings/funerals.
And of course, reconnect with nature, take pictures, and unplug for a bit. You don’t want to miss out on this amazing Hobbit Home, hidden away in the forest just a short drive from the ATL!
