In a shocking post on Instagram today, UrbanTree Cidery announced some very sad news. They are choosing not to renew their Howell Mill Rd lease.
They write:
“To all our beloved cider friends and fans, we have some important news to share… after eight wonderful years of operating in our space on Howell Mill Road, we have decided not to move forward with our upcoming lease renewal and will be closing the tasting room after Sunday, May 19th.”
They did not note exactly why they would be closing up their tasting room.
UrbanTree continues, saying that the tasting room will be open for regular business hours until then. The events planned until May 19th will also go on as planned! They also specify that their ciders will still be available in restaurants and their usual retail locations.
From trivia to bottomless mimosas, check out their upcoming events on UrbanCidery’s website here!
About UrbanTree Cidery’s tasting room
Along with making ciders for restaurants and retail locations, UrbanTree has had a ‘tasting room’ open to the public. There, they offered all the ciders they were currently manufacturing, either by the glass or in tasting flights. Along with their iconic local ciders, you could find cider cocktails (made with distilled GA spirits) and local craft beers.
Of course all of their ciders were also available to go in bottles or Growlers.
We are so sad to see UrbanTree Cidery close up their tasting room later this spring, but we’re thankful that their products will still be available in stores and restaurants!
