What is Whiplash?
Whiplash is Atlanta’s newest comedy club, expected to open later this year, above City Winery at the Ponce City Market.
Created by the founder of Atlanta’s iconic Laughing Skull Lounge, Marshall Chiles, Whiplash will be a 6,000-square-foot space with two rooms: the 130-seat main theatre, “Main Squeeze,” and a 44-seat “Side Piece” room, for smaller shows.
What can guests expect at Whiplash?
First of all: ALLLL the laughs!
Whiplash plans to host everything from local comedians and open mic nights to famous professional comics traveling to the city.
Chiles also plans to have 7 shows a week, including cool 1am shows, to offer more late night entertainment in the ATL.
Whiplash states on their website, “With two showrooms, we estimate 25 shows a week.”
And on top of the hilarious comedy acts, Whiplash will also have a 2,500-square-foot outdoor patio which will have a full bar and tons of different food options like
- flatbreads
- quesadillas
- sliders
When will Whiplash open in Atlanta?
Currently, Chiles says the goal is to open Whiplash by June, 2026.
