‘A Man in Full’ will center around Atlanta estate mogul Charlie Croker
According to Variety, there’ll soon be an Atlanta-based miniseries available to stream on Netflix. Netflix has officially given a limited series order to the forthcoming TV adaptation of A Man in Full, based on Tom Wolfe’s 1998 drama novel of the same name.
The story follows an Atlanta estate mogul Charlie Croker, who’ll face sudden bankruptcy, as political and business interests collide and Charlie defends his empire from those attempting to capitalize on his fall from grace.
The minds behind the series are Emmy-winning creator David E. Kelley and Oscar winner Regina King, who is set to direct the first three episodes. Kelley will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on “A Man in Full.”
Regina stars in Netflix’s recent release The Harder They Fall, a wild-west spectacle, receiving lots of love online. Netflix even changed their twitter bio to simply “Put Regina King in every movie.”
“All I can say is when David E. Kelley calls, you just say yes,” King said in a statement. “I know this partnership will produce something special.”
Kelley added, “A passion project for me, no doubt. The opportunity to tackle Tom Wolfe’s brilliant and prescient novel, to have Regina helming — I could not be more excited.”
Kelley is best known for being the creator of a number of acclaimed dramas including L.A. Law, Big Little Lies, Picket Fences, and more!
