What is “Stem by Stem — Alien Boy Gives Me Flowers”?
These massive inflatable alien creatures are bursting with life: they’ve got massive, expressive eyes and intricate, colorful patterns inspired by traditional Japanese kimonos!

ART in the PARK says,
As visitors move through the installation, the artwork reacts—triggering bursts of color, soft pulsating synth notes, and ambient bird calls that transform the space into an immersive, sensory experience. The creatures hold armfuls of fresh flowers, reinforcing the theme of love, care, and connection—just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The Atlanta Downtown Improvement District (ADID) and Arts & Entertainment Atlanta (A&E) will debut “Stem by Stem – Alien Boy Gives Me Flowers” on Thursday, February 13, 2025, just in time for the holiday of love!
When: February 13th, 2025 – March 14th, 2025
Where: Woodruff Park | 91 Peachtree St NW, Atlanta, GA

If you come to Stem by Stem’s debut, you’ll get to experience a ton of other cool activities too!
For those who want flowers of their own to gift to a friend, ATL DTN will be handing out stems on Thursday 2/13 from 12:00 – 1:30 PM (while supplies last). Stop by our letter-writing station Thursday 2/13, and Friday 2/14 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM to write your valentine on free custom postcards created by local artists!
