It’s almost February, which means love is in the air. Here are some romantic date ideas for Valentine’s Day in the ATL.
Coming up with the perfect date for Valentine’s Day comes with a lot of pressure, so we’re here to ease some of that off you. Here’s the top ten things to do to impress your other half this upcoming February 14th.
1. Stroll in the Park
Atlanta is famous for its lush green spaces, so there’s no better way to start Valentine’s Day than a walk in the park. We suggest you head to the beautiful Piedmont Park in the center of the city. You can take in its gorgeous rolling hills, and views of the Atlanta skyline. If you really want to impress, why not take a picnic with a blanket and some bubbles?
2. Out for Dinner?
Atlanta’s culinary scene includes an incredible array of global cuisines. From fine dining to cheap eats, Atlanta has something for every taste, and every wallet. If you don’t mind splashing the cash to eat at one of the ATL’s most romantic restaurants, we suggest Canoe, which overlooks the beautiful Chattahoochee River. 3. Blooming romantic
Nestled in Piedmont Park are Atlanta’s Botanical Gardens. Check out incredible displays of floral gold, guaranteed to swoon your lover. But make sure you buy your roses, and not steal them on one of the garden’s gorgeous trails through botanical wonderlands.
4. Love Stories of Oakland
What’s morbid to some, is magic to others. Oakland cemetery are offering a special tour this Valentine’s Day, telling some of the cities most romantic love stories. Discover the symbolism of love found on monuments throughout the grounds, and stories of devotion that extend into the afterlife. This tour will prove that love never dies.
5. Take a hike!

6. Watch the sunset from Stone Mountain Park
Downtown Atlanta looks so small from this mighty mountain, and it’s definitely the local’s favorite spot to watch the sun go down. Gaze at the evening sky, as it turns from blue to orange, pink and purple. You can either hike to the top, or catch the Summit Skyride. With guaranteed majestic views of the city, watch Atlanta slowly start to glow,7 and continue to shine throughout the night.
7. Spend the night in one of Atlanta’s romantic hotels
There are plenty of hotels in Atlanta that provide incredible amenities and romantic views, perfect for that V-Day getaway or staycation.
