ATL’s Design Festival is back and better than ever!
The annual Atlanta Design Festival is back for 2021 with a full program of in-person and virtual events. This popular festival is focusing on ‘Reconnecting the Community’ for 2021 as the country emerges from the pandemic.
Each year the Festival brings together independent designers, established brands, young talent, exhibitions, installations, architecture tours, and more! All of which is centered on the economic and societal impact of design. This is defined as ‘the design economy’ – the direct and indirect value created by those who use design in a wide variety of industries.
Highlights from this year’s lineup of stellar events includes Women In Design, an evening with two dynamic presentations about what it’s like to be a female in the design industry. Design and the Black Image will discuss how print design and print graphics have used symbolism to reinforce negative stereotypes and the awareness required to avoid conscious and unconscious pitfalls.
There’s all that and so much more, kicking things off on Tuesday October 5, with the keynote speech from Georgia House of Representatives Park Cannon on ‘Creating Equitable Communities and Coming Through Covid-19’. This important talk connects the design economy of Atlanta with the wider community creating a roadmap for how Georgia can grow post-pandemic. To check out their entire lineup of events, click here.
Don’t miss out on this awesome festival filled with fun events, workshops, and crucially important discussions surrounding the world of design, the industry, and its workers.
