First of all, don’t worry. The department reports that there are no active fire threats in the city of Atlanta, currently, in associate to the haze you might be seeing.
The AFRD also notes that there is no need to call 911 over the haze. hey are aware of the situation and will continue monitoring it.
What’s causing the haze in downtown ATL?
The haze in Atlanta is caused by smoke drifting north from wildfires in South Georgia, which have caused many locals to have to evacuate.
The wildfires come as over 98% of the state experiences a massive drought, and has not seen substantial rain in some time.
