If you’re experiencing a connection issues with AT&T this morning, you’re not alone. The massive wireless service provider has released a statement saying that they’re experiencing another service outage this week.
WSB-TV Atlanta reports that AT&T sent the following statement to ABC News:
“Some of our customers are experiencing wireless service interruptions this morning. We are working urgently to restore service to them. We encourage the use of Wi-Fi calling until service is restored.”
The incident began just before 4am today, Thursday, February, 22nd.
Metro Atlanta is one of the affected areas of the AT&T outage.
WSB-TV Atlanta reports, “The city of Atlanta sent out the following statement regarding the outage:
‘We are aware that AT&T is having cellular outages this week and are actively gathering information to determine how the City of Atlanta can assist in resolving this issue. Atlanta’s E-911 is able to receive inbound and make outbound calls. We have received calls from AT&T customers that their cellular phones are in SOS mode. Please direct all inquiries to restore service to AT&T.'”
There seem to be some issues with Verizon and T-Mobile as well this morning, however both companies confirmed to ABC News that they did not experience any outages.
Some AT&T customers are already getting back online, while others are still in SOS mode.
What should I do?
For right now, if you’re experiencing the outage in Atlanta, connect to Wifi to call or text. It might also be helpful to report the issue directly to AT&T, so they can see how many people are affected.
We hope to get connected again soon! But until then, we’ll keep you updated on what’s going on here! Stay safe out there, Atlanta!
