We’re so excited to bask in the light, color and excitement of Prismatica, now in Atlanta until the middle of March!
Hold up. What is Prismatica?
Prismatica is a captivating journey into a kaleidoscopic world of color, light, and sound. Originally conceived for the 2014 Luminothérapie competition in Montreal, Canada, by the creative minds at RAW Design, Prismatica has captivated audiences across North America.
The beautiful public art exhibition is made up of 25 towering prisms, each one standing over six feet tall, with a coat of dichroic film that reflects a spectrum of colors. These prisms pivot, illuminating the park with an ever-changing array of colors that shift with the daylight and the viewer’s perspective. At night, projectors and musical chimes add another layer of interactive experience, transforming the space into a vibrant, modern-day ice palace.
When you view the breathtaking prisms during the day, you’ll have a whole different experience than when you view them at night. And since the exhibit depends on the natural light and how you personally view them, each time you visit will be a totally new experience!
What’s the point?
Prismatica encourages participants to explore the relationship between light, sound, and space. It offers a unique opportunity to see downtown Atlanta in a new and radiant light! It also allows onlookers to engage with art in a much more personal way.
