Wait… why does Georgia rank as #1, with the best roads?
Georgia comes in first, with a total road quality score of 7.42/10
Zutobi says,
Georgia has the best road score in the United States, in 2023 94% of all roads in the state were in a good condition, this is 3% less than there was three years earlier. There is less than 1.3 highway fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles travelled.
In other words, our roads are in much better shape than we might give them credit for! Virginia comes in as a close second, with a ranking of 7.14/10.
How did they come up with this ranking?
Zutobi looked at the total miles of public roads, as well as the percentage of acceptable miles to come up with this ranking system. Their data is sourced from the Bureau of Transportation.
This ranking might come as a shock to you if you spend a lot of time on Georgia roads. But hey, just because our roads are good doesn’t mean we don’t have some of the worst traffic in the world…
