Midtown Atlanta will soon host a movie screening of horror legend Alfred Hitchcock’s Birds. Of course, Halloween movie screenings aren’t new. However, Midtown have put a unique twist on the frightfully fun tradition of horror movies during spooky season!
Earlier this year, the ATL district installed a spectacular art piece of hundreds of vibrant birds in an array of colors (pictured above). And now to celebrate Halloween, their use has transformed from sprucing up the neighborhood to something quite sinister, or even more sinister if you’ve got a phobia of birds!
Yes, that’s right. The breathtaking installation is where you’ll be able to watch the vintage horror classic on October 26, for one night only!
Birds is a harrowing tale of a town that becomes terrorized by a series of violent bird attacks, making this exciting Midtown location for movie night not only extremely fitting, but truly terrifying.
The art installation was put up in the summer, earlier this year. The piece is a symbol of rebirth and regeneration by Italian artist Cracking Art, renowned for their intricate animal sculptors. For more information on the installation, click here.
You’ll be able to watch Alfred’s Hitchcock’s Birds on Wednesday October 26, with the movie starting at 7:15pm. You can find the screen near the art installation, located at Midtown’s Commercial Row Commons.
The event is free of charge, with some chairs available on site. However, attendees are encouraged to bring their own. There will even be a popcorn vendor, but we suggest stocking up on snacks before going.
In other ATL news, The Battery Atlanta’s annual Xfinity movie series is returning with an unmissable line-up of movies throughout the fall. Happening from October 28 through December 9, expect an eclectic mix of movie magic like Shrek, Pitch Perfect, and more!
Event is subject to cancelation for rain so check back here or on our social media the day-of for any updates. Click here or the link below to find out more information.
