Midtown Atlanta just got a little brighter thanks to a vibrantly striking art installation over Commercial Row Commons (pictured above). Over 200 multicolored birds are now taking flight over this iconic Midtown artery. The piece was created by Cracking Art, an Italian artist renowned for adorable animal sculptures.
In a statement on social media, Midtown Atlanta announced that the piece symbolizes “rebirth and regeneration. The birds embody freedom and embrace the spirt of the journey.”
They continue, “Even though they are wild creatures, they build nests on residential rooftops, suggesting that they are comfortable cohabitating with humans and sharing space in our domestic environments.”
The piece is part of an epic project, focusing on bringing more art to the beloved district of Central Atlanta. Entitled the Art Walk, this vibrant stretch of Midtown provides an improved infrastructure to get around, all while promoting the arts and ATL artists.
You can find the bird installation on Commercial Row Commons, at the corner of Peachtree Street and Peachtree Place.
