Which areas of Atlanta are affected?

The boil water advisory is issued for the City of Atlanta, specifically in the downtown corridor, which includes (but is not limited to):
- Vine City
- Downtown Atlanta
- Mechanicsville
- Pittsburgh
- Peoplestown
- Grant Park
- Cabbagetown
- Inman Park
- large chunks of Memorial Street
What should I do?

Out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with Georgia EPD guidance for public notice, you should boil any water for “one minute past a rolling boil” before doing any of the following:
- Drinking
- Cooking
- Preparing baby food
- Brushing teeth
Another option is to used bottled water instead.
Refrain from drinking public water, like water fountains, in impacted areas.
Can I wash my dishes? Or clothes?
Good question. You can wash your clothes as usual in the washing machine, but if you need to run the dishwasher, run it on the hot setting.
You can flush your toilets like normal.
How long is the boiling advisory in place?

The advisory will remain in place until required water quality testing is completed and DWM is cleared to lift the advisory.
