We recently asked on our Instagram: “What’s A Reason Only Someone In ATL Would Cancel A First Date?” and y’all had some truly hilarious answers. Get ready to laugh along at the hilarity of dating in the ATL.
So without further ado, here are 30 reasons only someone in Atlanta would cancel a first date!
1. Traffic
2. Finding out he had a whole family (oh NO)
3. Uber says 2 hours for 5 miles
4. Three flurries of snow dropped so the interstate is shutdown.
5. Tripped on a chicken bone
6. The spot ran out of Lemon Pepper wings and Hookah
7. The car fell in a sinkhole on Ponce
8. Bridge caught on fire
9. SEC sports
10. Sorry my car just got broken into
11. Dinner time traffic, while raining on 400
12. Wheels got taken off, can’t come
13. My neighbors car magically flipped over
14. they find out you want 48 oysters
15. Im not down with OTP
16. Money truck crashed on 285 and I’m suddenly busy
17. Getting stuck behind someone trying to take a left on Krog
18. The parking garage ran out of parking spots
19. Researched him (Y’ALL!)
20. You insisted on meeting in west Alpharetta at 5pm on a Thursday knowing I live in south side Decatur
21. Semi fell over on the highway
22. That Netflix and Apple Music payment hit they account
23. Car window got busted
24. Flat tire from a pothole in west midtown
25. Traffic on I-75 caused by an accident led to another accident because people were looking at the accident instead of the road. I tried to go around through back streets and ran into a detour that blocked off all of downtown due to construction on the road and an event at Mercedes Benz stadium. I’ve now driven out to Rome Georgia just to find an opening to turn left and go back towards the city…sooo, how do you feel about video chat date??

29. I thought it was on Peachtree Street IN ATLANTA, not the one in Peachtree Corners. By the time I get there, it will be too late to make the reservation.
30. 40,000 pounds of raw, frozen chickens spill across I-285 causing a massive traffic jam. I didn’t believe them until I saw it on the news
