A bill called the Sunshine Protection Act just passed 308-117 in the House this Tuesday, after a years-long push to end the seasonal clock changes. Keep scrolling to learn all about what this means for your spring forward and fall back!
What is the Sunshine Protection Act?

The Sunshine Protection Act is a bill that just passed in the House, which would keep clocks shifted one hour ahead.
According to CBS News,
Proponents of the bill argue the change would have positive impacts on sleep schedules, people’s health and the economy, and would allow Americans to have more daylight hours in the evening throughout the year. Its critics say extended darkness in the morning hours of winter would have negative effects on health and safety.
What happens now?

Now, the bill will move to the senate, where it may or may not pass.
CBS News states,
If the Senate were to pass the bill, it would then head to the president’s desk for his signature. President Trump seems to support the measure.
In other daylight saving time news: of course, earlier this year, Georgia lawmakers voted on the Georgia Sunshine Protection Act. This bill also aims to end daylight saving clock changes by moving from Eastern Standard Time to Atlantic Standard Time, which is one hour earlier.
Many Georgians seem to be split on their positions about Daylight Saving Time and its use in society.
