There’s no need to tell your seat mates to wake you up when the flight attendant comes by with the snack cart on short Delta flights anymore… because the snack cart isn’t coming at all anymore. Delta Air Lines will reportedly eliminate complimentary snacks and drinks on short flights, beginning this month. Keep scrolling for all the details.
How short is a ‘short flight’?

Delta Air Lines will no longer serve snacks and drinks on flights under 350 miles. This policy will reportedly affect about 450 daily flights, including routes like Atlanta to Charlotte and Atlanta to Nashville, which are both very popular flights.
The flights affected (450 a day) is equal to about 9% of of Delta’s 5,500 daily flights, according to USA Today.
What if I’m in first class?
Well, then actually, you’ll still get your service. This new policy only applies to Main Cabin and Comfort+ passengers.
When does this new no-snacks, no-drinks policy go into effect?

Beginning May 19th, Delta Air Lines will no longer offer free snacks and drinks for flights under 350 miles.
According to USA Today, Delta Air Lines said in a statement,
Even on the small number of flights without beverage service, our crew will continue to be visible, available and focused on caring for our customers, like they do on every flight.
This news comes just after the shocking announcement that Spirit Airlines entirely shut down operations, and every major airline increased baggage fees, earlier this year.
So, if your favorite part of your flight was enjoying a delicious Biscoff cookie and drink, then you’ll have to make sure you grab a snack in the airport to bring aboard. Of course, if we get any more updates on this new policy, we’ll be sure to let you know!
