In 2026, Atlanta is hosting several matches for the FIFA World Cup at our iconic Mercedes-Benz stadium! And with so many visitors from all over the country (and world!), we wanted to make a handy dandy little guide to our city for ya!
Keep scrolling for a guide to all the incredible things you’ve gotta check out while you’re here for the World Cup!
Enjoy one of our best sports bars
Atlanta is home to tons of amazing sports bars across the city! In fact, we’ve actually got the very best soccer bar in the entire country right here in town!
If you’re looking to watch some more sports while you’re in town for the FIFA World Cup, here’s what we recommend:
- Brewhouse Pub (the #1 best soccer bar in the U.S.) – this iconic soccer bar is perfect if you’re a football fan… which, you are!
- Your 3rd Spot – along with playing sports on their many TVs, Your 3rd Spot has tons of games, activities and events for you to enjoy while you drink and dine!
- McCray’s Tavern – with locations all over the city, McCray’s is a classic spot to grab a beer, a burger and watch a game on the big screens!
Dance the night away at one of Atlanta’s favorite clubs & bars
Done with sports for the day and wanna dance and ~imbibe~ don’t worry, Atlanta is home to many clubs! Here’s where we recommend going for a drink and some dancing!
- Smith’s Olde Bar – great drinks and three rooms of space, usually with amazing live music!
- MJQ – true club vibes, but not super fancy
- Havana Club – FANCY club; think bottle service and paparazzi
Grab dinner at one of Atlanta’s favorite restaurants
Now when it comes to eating out in the ATL, we truly have a wide selection. It would feel crazy to just list a few of our favorite spots when there are so many!
So here’s what we’re going to do instead: while you’re in Atlanta you should definitely try some of our locals’ favorite spots! We asked Atlantans which restaurants they’d eat at if they could only pick one for the rest of their lives… and here’s what they said!
We definitely recommend trying some true soul food while you’re here (especially if you’re visiting from outside the south) and our iconic Atlanta wings: which are lemon pepper hot wings!
Start your day with coffee from one of Atlanta’s must-visit coffee shops
Kickstart your day before you head out for the FIFA World Cup by grabbing a pastry and some delicious coffee at one of Atlanta’s local spots! In a city known for our fantastic coffee, we have tons of recommendations. Here are just a few to check out:
- Ash Coffee – Virginia Highland neighborhood
- Chrome Yellow – Edgewood neighborhood
- Banjo Coffee – Avondale Estates neighborhood
Hit up one of our fabulous tourist attractions
- Head to the Georgia Aquarium, the largest aquarium in North America for a true adventure. The GA Aquarium is best known as the only aquarium in the U.S. with whale sharks on display. They’ve also got belugas, jellyfish, alligators, and so much more!
- Spend some time at the High Museum of Art, the Southeast’s largest art museum. And this summer, they have a stunning exhibit on display for the first time ever in the U.S.
- Visit Arabia Mountain, which is just a short hike to the top of a beautiful mountain! Or check out one of our other stunning hikes here!
- Visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden and wander through a paradise of flowers, plants, and botanical statues!
Welcome to Atlanta! We hope you enjoy our wonderful city, known by its many nicknames: the Big Peach, the City in a forest, the Hollywood of the South… and of course, Hotlanta (but… just so you know, only the tourists call it that)!
