Here’s the full list of top 10 foodie cities in the U.S.:
- Miami
- Portland
- San Francisco
- Seattle
- Orlando
- Austin
- Tampa
- Las Vegas
- Sacramento
- San Diego
And then, of course, at #11, Atlanta.
Why does Atlanta rank so high on the foodie list?

The category that gave Atlanta the most points? Diversity, quality and accessibility. That means that we’ve got the widest range of food for foodies to enjoy… and it’s accessible and GOOD. Sadly, what brought our score down so much was… you probably guessed it… affordability. It’s definitely not cheap to eat out in the ATL, and that’s why we don’t rank in the top 10 cities for foodies.
How did WalletHub come up with these stats?

WalletHub says,
In order to determine the best and cheapest local foodie scenes, WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across two key dimensions, “Affordability” and “Diversity, Accessibility & Quality.” We evaluated those dimensions using 28 relevant metrics… Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions and costs for foodies.
