Science on Tap: From Sea to Screen, Discover the Right Whale’s Story
Learn something new… and have a great time while you’re doing it! This August, the Georgia Aquarium is hosting their Science on Tap event to dive in (no pun intended) to the depths of the right whale’s story.
At the event, attendees can expect:
- a screening of ‘The Right Whale: Tales of Resilience and Hope’
- a panel discussion with filmmakers & aquarium biologists following the film
- light bites, movie snacks
- beer and wine
And the best party? It’s all in support of marine research and conservation! So you’re helping out by enjoying a film and snacks!
What is ‘The Right Whale: Tales of Resilience and Hope’ about?
According to the Georgia Aquarium,
The Right Whale: Tales of Resilience and Hope celebrates the enigmatic lives of right whales as they navigate the world’s oceans. We meet individual whales who are as intrepid as any human explorer and witness intimate moments between mothers and their calves. Filmed in collaboration with scientists worldwide, we gain a deeper understanding of how these magnificent creatures perceive their environment. The ocean has changed dramatically since right whales were thriving centuries ago. Southern right whales represent one of the greatest conservation success stories of our time, but their Northern cousins are in peril. The Right Whale explores the changes needed to revive an ocean full of giants.
Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion and Q&A with the filmmakers and Georgia Aquarium biologists!
