We recently asked on our socials: what’s your best advice for Georgia Renaissance Festival goers? And y’all MORE than answered.
Your replies were so good that we decided to make a whole handy dandy Ren Fest guide out of ’em! So keep scrolling for some wacky, silly, sincere advice that miiiiight just make your Ren Fest experience even more fun!

- Go in with a plan: decide on places to meet your friends at certain times because cell service will likely go out!!
- Keep your drink cold: Half-fill your water bottles and stick them in the freezer the night before. Then you’ll have cold water throughout the day.
- Prep beforehand: Bring hydration/electrolyte pouches with you!!! Also, eat a decent (but not big) breakfast before you can grab food during off times at the food courts. They get super crowded around typically meal times
- Don’t sleep on the Chimney Cake at the Ren Festival
- Interact with the artists and not just as audience or customers; they love to play along!
- Get tickets screenshots ahead of time and plan out shows to watch and times. Cell service and internet are not just patchy—almost non existent.
- Don’t forget to bring/grab something to get the grease off your hands after eating a Turkey leg
- Wear very comfortable shoes… it’s a lot of walking!
- BRING CASH! There is an ATM on the site, but that’s just waiting in another line that doesn’t have a delicious mead at the end of it.
- Sunscreen. Sunscreen. Sunscreen.
- Find the pickle guy for pickle shots, they’re a lifesaver when it’s hot!!
- Bring trinkets to pass and trade with other people.
- Flower crowns make everything better
- Grab a portable fan and Walkie Talkies (did we mention there’s NO CELL RECEPTION!)
- Most of the food is is card-only, so don’t forget your card!
- Bring hot sauce for the turkey leg
- The hookah lounge is a great spot to watch the joust from!
- The bathrooms in the back are the nicest
- It can get very dusty at the Renaissance Festival, so bring tissues or a mask if you need to
- Enjoy it! Eat the food, do the things and make the memories. Yes, the Renaissance Festival is a little pricy, but it’s not something you do often, and it’s got tons of local vendors and artists!
And of course, take pictures! You’re all dressed up, so why not?
