Nestled among the gorgeous landscapes of North Georgia is one of our state’s most peculiar (yet magical) places to visit. Helen is Georgia’s very-own German Alpine village, and is home to one of the biggest Oktoberfest celebrations the state has to offer! This year is no different, as the town prepares for their annual party to take over the entire village with an ample of things to do.
So make sure to get out those lederhosen and dirndls for Helen’s Oktoberfest, as the festivities will run from Thursday to Sunday through September, and every day from Sept. 29 to Oct. 30, 2022. Things kick off on September 10 with their beloved Oktoberfest parade, before the multiweek celebrations begin!
You can expect traditional dancing, music, food, and, of course, beer, all taking place in Helen’s riverside venue Festhall. There’s also so much to do in the area including gorgeous hiking trails, exploring the enchanting shops in the magical town, and so much more. It’s even a hotspot for river tubing if you end up visiting before the season ends.
The event is open to all, however, weekdays tend to be a bit more family-friendly. Admission is $8 during the week, $10 on Saturdays, and free of charge on Sunday. Opening times vary. For more information on Helen’s Oktoberfest, click here to visit their website.
