AWhere is Hurricane Milton?
Hurricane Milton is a rapidly developing, category 5 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday, and it expected to be extremely dangerous.

Milton’s max winds have increased of 95 mph in a 24-hour period, one of the highest increases ever on record in a 24-hour period, only to be topped by Wilma in 2005 and Felix in 2007.
Hurricane Milton is on record as the fourth strongest hurricane in Atlantic hurricane history.
If you live in the parts of Florida that have been recommended to by local officials, evacuate if at all possible.
Will Hurricane Milton hit Atlanta?
Currently, Atlanta will not feel Hurricane Milton and its effects. The weather is, of course, subject to change, but for right now Atlanta is a safe haven, and welcomes those evacuating with open arms.
South Georgia will feel some of the effects, including rain and wind.
How can Atlanta help?
Georgia is expected to see one of the largest number of evacuees from Florida over the next few days Ince Hurricane Irma in 2017.

According to a new report from Fox 5 Atlanta,
Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) has announced it is opening its campgrounds to evacuees fleeing Hurricane Milton. In partnership with the Henry County Emergency Management Agency, AMS will provide dry camping at no charge in its Legends Premium Campground for RVs and its Legends Tent Campground for pop-up campers and tents. Evacuees will also have complimentary access to nearby shower facilities during their stay.
Hurricane Milton is a serous threat, and everyone should take the gravity of the situation seriously. Do not panic, though. And those of us in Atlanta with the space and ability, should extend our hospitality to everyone evacuating Florida right now.
