Keith Lee recently posted his year in review for the eight cities he visited in 2023, and unfortunately, his experience with Atlanta left a bad taste in his mouth.
Why was ATL the worst?
Out of the eight cities he visited, which included New York and New Orleans, Lee said Atlanta was his least favorite. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Lee said on TikTok, “‘My biggest issue with Atlanta is, it was hard to get food.'” He did add in his final year-end ranking video, “‘When we did eat, it was delicious,'” which proves the problem wasn’t with our food, but with our costumer service.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, “At multiple stops on his visit to Atlanta in October, Lee criticized the customer service experience and the hurdles his family jumped through trying to order to-go meals.” At some stops he was unable to get food entirely.
A good review from Lee can mean a great deal to a local mom and pop shop business. In fact, when Lee visited (and loved!) Atlanta’s Juci Jerk, the restaurant reported longer lines. That makes sense for someone with a TikTok viewership of over 15 million.
So who did he think was the best?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports his final ranking, “Other cities on Lee’s year-end list, ranking ahead of Atlanta from worst to best, included New York, Detroit, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, and Houston. Lee placed New Orleans in his top spot — notably, he said it was the customer service that made the city the best.”
It was a big year for food for the ATL with the introduction of the Michelin Guide and some Atlanta Michelin Star winners! Keith Lee might not have liked our restaurant scene, but we definitely know that Atlanta is where the good food is at!
