One Star Restaurants
The Michelin Guide’s star rating system is based on five universal criteria: quality of ingredients, harmony of flavors, mastery of techniques, personality of the chef expressed through their cuisine, and consistency across the menu and over time. A restaurant can earn a maximum of three stars. Michelin breaks it down like this:
- One star: A very good restaurant in its category.
- Two stars: Excellent cooking, worth a detour.
- Three stars: Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.
