Popeyes employees at the Roswell Road location received an amazing treat when famous Atlanta rapper, Lil Baby, grabbed his food in their drive-thru this past week.
According to a report by WSB-TV 2 Atlanta, Lil Baby gifted each employee working inside $100: a very pleasant surprise for all of the Popeyes employees working that night.
One of the Popeyes employees posted on Facebook, “Sooooo (lil baby) just came and blesssss my whole store with $100 each!!!” along with photos of the employees holding their cash and a photo of Lil Baby in his car.
About Lil Baby
Lil Baby is an Atlanta rapper who became famous after the release of his 2017 mixtapes Harder than Hard and Too Hard. Harder than Hard eventually earned him a spot on the Billboard Hot 100, with its lead single, “My Dawg.”
Since Harder Than Ever, he’s released two studio albums, My Turn in 2020 and It’s Only Me in 2022. He also won the Grammy Award for ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ for his guest appearance on Kanye West and the Weeknd’s 2021 single “Hurricane”.
Lil Baby, born Dominique Armani Jones, was born and raised in the Oakland City neighborhood in southwestern Atlanta.
The Popeyes employees who received $100 each from Lil Baby were definitely excited to see the Atlanta legend.
In other celebrity-giving-to-Atlantans news, Beyoncé recently announced that her foundation, BeyGOOD, along with her haircare brand Cecréd, is creating a $500,000 annual scholarship for cosmetologist in certain cities. This of course, includes Atlanta! The singer said on her website, “Hairstylists have an immense impact on the people in their chairs. They create a sacred space where we can show up how we want and express ourselves through our hair. We’re honored to give back to this amazing community.”
Let’s keep up the ATL wins this week, y’all!
