With the release of her new country album, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’, and her 2024 Super Bowl Commercial, Beyoncé has been on everyone’s mind recently. And now, Queen Bey is sharing even more amazing news!
BeyGOOD, Beyoncé’s philanthropic entity, which was established in 2013, is partnering with Cécred, Beyoncé’s new haircare brand, to create the CÉCRED™ x BeyGOOD Fund. The the fund will provide $500,000 annually to cosmetology students across five U.S. cities, including Atlanta.
Beyoncé says on her website, “Hairstylists have an immense impact on the people in their chairs. They create a sacred space where we can show up how we want and express ourselves through our hair. We’re honored to give back to this amazing community.”
What is the CÉCRED™ x BeyGOOD Fund?
According to BeyGOOD’s website, “An annual $500,000 will fund cosmetology school scholarships and salon business grants across five cities chosen for their large, diverse community of hair stylists: Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New Jersey.”
More specifically: “Each year, twenty five $10,000 financial aid student scholarships will be granted across five cosmetology schools with inclusive curriculums in Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and New Jersey.”
The partner cosmetology schools include:
- Beaver Beauty Academy in Atlanta.
- Trenz Beauty Academy in Chicago.
- Universal College of Beauty in Los Angeles.
- Franklin Institute in Houston.
- Janas Cosmetology Academy in New Jersey.
Recipients also need to fit into these criteria as well:
- Demonstrates need due to financial hardship
- Completion of the application
- Resides within one of the five focus cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New Jersey
