Why did MARTA make an Outkast-inspired bus wrap?
This iconic Outkast bus is a celebration of the Atlanta duo’s album, ‘Stankonia’! AND for the duo’s upcoming induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on November 8th, 2025.
Jonathan Hunt, Interim General Manager and CEO of MARTA, said,
MARTA is part of the fabric of Atlanta, just like Outkast. We’re honored to celebrate artists who have carried the spirit of this city to the world, and who often mentioned MARTA in their music.”
The special-edition bus, which was inspired by Outkast’s signature style and ATL roots, was unveiled Thursday, October 30, at Skatetonia25, a celebratory fan event hosted by Sony Music at Cascade Skating Rink in southwest Atlanta. The event featured music, skating, and a special appearance by Big Boi, who posed for photos alongside the MARTA bus celebrating the group’s legacy.
How long do I have to ride the Outkast bus?
The specially designed bus will remain in service for approximately one year and will serve riders across Southwest Atlanta.
