The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm have announced their plans for the 2026 Million Meal Pack initiative, and you don’t want to miss out! This wonderful food packaging event helps to strengthen food security across the Atlanta community by providing individuals and families with access to nutritious meals… all packaged by volunteers on one fun day in the heart of the city! What is the Million Meal Pack initiative?
At its core, Million Meal Pack is the yearly service initiative of the Atlanta Hawks. The day of service brings together over 5,000 volunteers to package one million meals in a single day to help strengthen food security across Atlanta. These meals will directly benefit communities across the Atlanta metro area, with distribution supported by U.S. Hunger, a leading hunger relief organization known for its innovative programs designed to help feed people struggling with food insecurity.
Steve Koonin, Chief Executive Officer of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena said in a statement,
Working alongside State Farm on this impactful effort underscores our ongoing dedication to strengthening the communities we call home and addressing the challenge of food insecurity. We’re excited to welcome people from across Atlanta to participate in this hallmark community event, and we remain grateful for the incredible volunteers whose collective efforts help package one million meals each year, creating meaningful support for families facing food insecurity.
This event is more than just an opportunity to help out our neighbors, it’s a fun way to deeply connect with the community.

What can volunteers expect?
This isn’t your average food packaging event either. You know we’ve gotta do it Atlanta style!
Volunteers can help out their neighbors all while enjoying a festive atmosphere with music, live performances, delicious food, giveaways, and activities designed to engage and entertain families of all ages. (Age 5+.)
But the party doesn’t stop after you’re done packaging meals! To show appreciation for their hard work, all volunteers will be invited to a special, volunteer-only celebration, State Farm Street Fest on State Farm Drive, following their shifts. As a thank you for all their hard work, volunteers will get to enjoy an exclusive gathering featuring:

- complimentary refreshments
The Hawks and State Farm have previously hosted five Million Meal Pack events, in 2025, 2024, 2023, 2022 and 2019. In those five years, the two organizations have rallied more than 26,000 volunteers packing more than 5.1 million meals.
