Okay, but how did they come up with this data?
To find the most passive aggressive roads in every state, American River Wellness looked at a lot of different data that has to do with passive aggressive drivers and quiet road rage.
Here’s what American River Wellness has to say,
This study surveyed 3,011 U.S. drivers in May 2026 to identify the roads and routes most likely to cause passive-aggressive driving behavior, including tailgating, blocking merges, brake-checking, and excessive honking. Respondents were selected from a geographically representative online panel, balanced by age, gender, and region. To ensure data quality, responses underwent screening measures including bot detection, geo-verification, speeding checks, and manual review. Results were weighted to reflect national population benchmarks.
From this data, American River Wellness also found that a large number of wealthy suburbs were the most passive aggressive in the U.S.

This 16-mile stretch of road is home to everything from tattoo parlors to delicious local restaurants to the Fernbank Museum. And it’s also home to some truly passive aggressive drivers, apparently.
