If you’re looking for an artsy hidden gem in Atlanta, look no further! And even better? By enjoying a night of theatre, you’re also helping a really good cause! Frat Pack Productions, which provides tons of services to actors in Atlanta, including extremely high-quality audition taping services, has a new series that you definitely want to know about. That is, of course, their Charity Staged Reading Series.
What is Frat Pack’s Charity Staged Reading Series?
In a nutshell, Frat Pack Productions will put on staged readings, and all of the proceeds made from ticket sales will go to a worthy cause. This new series is dedicated to art meeting compassion, and hopes to make a positive impact on both our community and the world.
And just in case you’re not familiar, a staged reading is a rehearsed read-through of a script. You’ll feel like you’re actually watching the play because of how incredible the acting is, even though they’ll have their scripts in their hands!
Are there any readings coming up?
Yes! The first play on their list for the series is this Wednesday, June 26th. The play is The Pillowman, a super dark comedy about the interrogation of a fiction writer who lives in a police state. Without giving away any spoilers… the writer’s stories are strikingly similar to the stories of multiple kids who have been murdered in town.
100% of the proceeds for the play go to World Central Kitchen, an organization dedicated to serving meals in the aftermath of disasters and crises worldwide.
In other words, we just helped you make your Wednesday night plans!
