It was one fire too many for the iconic Krispy Kreme on Ponce
We have some good news, and bad for the fans of Krispy Kreme, specifically the Shaquille O’Neal-owned location on Ponce De Leon! We’ll rip off the band-aid and say that the donught shop will be demolished according to reports by AJC and What Now Atlanta.
However, the location is set to be rebuilt in the exact same spot, with keen interest in maintaining the original vibes and aesthetic of the historic donut hotspot.

Two horrific fires caused servere damage to Ponce’s Krispy Kreme, one in February, and the other in July. Investigators ruled arson as the cause of the February, with the cause of July’s fire still unknown. Thankfully, no-one was injured in either fire.
Casandra Williams, a representative of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation, confirmed that “as we and Shaquillehave said since after the first fire, our plan is to rebuild as soon as possible … and be back better and sweeter than ever.”
We will keep you posted on all all the updates as they come.
