Well one thing’s for absolutely certain, Atlanta. We’re not getting a white Christmas! This year, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are both expected to be very warm–far above average for this time of year usually. Keep scrolling to learn more.
How hot will it be on Christmas Day in Atlanta?

Meteorologists in the ATL are predicting Christmas Day highs around 73 degrees. In other words, it’ll feel a lot more like springtime than a winter wonderland in the ATL.
AccuWeather® Meteorologists say,
Temperatures are forecast to climb 15-30 degrees above the historical average as the jet stream bulges north over the middle of the nation. Widespread highs in the 70s and 80s are expected to challenge daily record high temperatures in some areas and shatter records in other places.
Historically, Atlanta’s Christmas Day temperatures usually stay in the low to mid 50s range, with an actual historical average of 53 – 59 degrees. Temperatures in the low 70s is a MASSIVE jump from this historical average.
Is this the hottest Christmas on record?

It’s not expected to be, no. The hottest Christmas on record in Atlanta was ten years ago, when Christmas Day highs hit 75 degrees.
The expected 73 degrees comes up just a little short of the Christmas Day record. But since we’re still a bit out from the actual day, things could change.
AcuWeather reports, in fact, “Christmas Day high temperature records could be challenged in Atlanta and Dallas, and potentially shattered in Oklahoma City, Kansas City and St. Louis.”
Basically, this means… maybe leave the ugly Christmas sweaters at home this Christmas! You might need an ugly Christmas… tank top(?) this year.
Don’t worry about dripping your faucets this Christmas, y’all! Instead worry about wearing sunscreen! Lol!
