A mix of comedy, rivalry, and a very powerful message, Shiloh Rules by Doris Baizley is a play you definitely don’t wanna miss out on. ACT1
What’s the play about?
When the 144th Battle of Shiloh reenactment unexpectedly starts a few hours early, Ranger Wilson, a Black park ranger who would rather be anywhere than the year 1862, imaginary or not, gets thrown into the whirlwind antics and mayhem of women trying their best to prove to be the most “authentic” on the field. Two dedicated union nurses, 2 mysterious Confederate refugees, and one quirky concessionaire on nobody’s side (except her own) all beg, steal, and shoot their way through the fight. As the reenactment spirals out of control, the six women learn that sometimes, the echoes of the Civil War are a little harder to leave behind than they thought. Shiloh Rules by Doris Baizley invites us all to remember what makes us similar more than different.
