You arrive to Piedmont Park for a day in the sunshine and you realize that you’ve left your sunscreen at home. Do not worry, as Atlanta’s favorite park is home to plenty of sunscreen dispensers, so you can always top up throughout your time at our gorgeous park in the summer.
In a recent post on Instagram for #DontFryDay, the park stated, “Piedmont Park has sunscreen dispensers throughout the Park! Be smart, and apply sunscreen every two hours.”
The thoughtful initiative is a collaboration between Piedmont Park, IMPACT Melanoma, and Northside Hospital. IMPACT Melanoma is a non-profit dedicated to reducing the incidence of melanoma through education, awareness & support programs, encouraging Atlantans and people all over the states to always practice safe skin.
They write on their website, “Thanks to the partnership with BrightGuard, IMPACT Melanoma and its Practice Safe Skin program has installed over 4,000 sunscreen dispensers in a variety of public and private settings making sun protection readily available. ”
Speaking of summer and protection, y’all need to keep cool throughout the scorching months in the ATL. Luckily, the City of Atlanta recently reopened the public pools across the city, and they are completely free to use. Click the link below for more information.
