Public Pools In Atlanta Have Closed For Operational Assessment

New statement puts a halt on free public swimming at the outdoor public pools in Atlanta.

All twelve of Atlanta’s public swimming pools are completely free of charge this summer. However, the City of Atlanta have announced that all public swimming pools in Atlanta have been closed for the time being, due to operational assessments.

The free entry came from lack of access over the past year due to COVID. Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms t announced that this year will be the first time ever that all public pools in Atlanta will be free of charge.

“After such a challenging year for communities across Atlanta, we are grateful that we can now provide free access to the City’s pools,” the mayor’s statement said earlier this year. “We ask everyone to enjoy our recreation facilities in a safe and responsible manner.”

Pools included on the list include Grant Park, Adams Park, South Bend Park, and more! As well as pools for laps, there’s pools with kids zones, and perfect corners to sunbathe for getting lost in a good book.

Of course, there were restrictions in place for all public pools on the list. There’s limited capacity and strict cleaning operations in place. We will let you know when they are opening up again, but for the meantime, check out the full list of summer pools in Atlanta below that are completely free, courtesy of Atlanta Parks & Rec.
