1. Six Flags Over Georgia
Atlanta’s most iconic theme park is definitely Six Flags. As you drive into the city, you’ll see the twisting roller coasters that are… literally ‘Over Georgia’! Six Flags always has something fun going on, along with their classic amusement park rides, treats and events!

Located just under two hours from Atlanta, Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park is an amazing amusement park you don’t wanna miss out on! They’ve got something for everyone–kiddie rides, family rides, thrilling roller coasters, a water park called SOAKya, carnival-type games, and of course, delicious park food! What started as a swimming and picnic area has now become one of America’s top ten family amusement parks for all ages!
3. Rigby’s Water World
Rigby’s Water World is a fantastic water park, just a hour and a half from the city! It’s truly the ultimate family water park destination, from serene lazy rivers to thrilling water slides, to kid-friendly splash zones designed for toddlers and beyond, there’s really something for everyone at Rigby’s Water World! 4. Skyline Park
For truly local amusement, head to The Roof at the Ponce City Market! They’ve got vintage amusements, games, mini golf, drinks, food, and so much more! Their Coney Island style boardwalk includes mini golf, horse derby race, basketball, skee-ball, and goblet toss!
Oh, and you’ll love the views from the roof, where you can get a clear view of the city!
5. Dollywood
Okay, look. Dollywood is four hours from Atlanta, BUT we think it’s worth the drive. If you love the iconic country legend (and a National Treasure), Dolly Parton, you’ll love her fun amusement park! You can enjoy everything from a splashing good time at the Dollywood water park, to amazing roller coasters and rides, fun experiences, and stage performances, and MORE! Dollywood is a truly iconic experience, and it’s honestly not that far from the ATL! You’ve gotta plan your trip soon!
