9 Epic Arcade Bars And Other Places To Have Fun In Atlanta

Atlanta has so many incredible nights out, offering a whole lot of fun!

Always remember that throughout history, you’ve managed to live the same time as ‘barcade’ culture, and that’s pretty special. Grab a couple of friends, have a couple of drinks, and let’s play some games! Check out some of our favorite hotspots, accumulating thousands of arcade games, hundreds of bowling balls, and epic nights to remember.

1. Joystick Gamebar

Where: Sweet Auburn

This Sweet Auburn dive bar is the perfect place to nerd out over the incredible selection of arcade games on offer. There’s beer on draft or by the can, including Georgia’s own Line Creek Brewing, Sweet Water, Orpheus Brewing, and more! There’s also cocktails for those who want something a little stronger.

2. The Painted Duck

Where: Stockyards Atlanta development on the Westside

Not an arcade in the traditional sense, but definitely the swankiest gaming bar on this list. The Painted Duck is a self-proclaimed ‘distinguished drinkery’ with vintage gaming parlors. The spectacular space includes 16 full service duckpin bowling lanes, 2 Belgian feather bowling lanes, 2 indoor horseshoe pits, knuckleball, and more!

3. Revery: VR Bar

Where: Midtown

A unique and modern take on the arcade, Revery: VR Bar is the ultimate VR experience in Atlanta. People may come for the futuristic gaming, but they stay for the party, with residential and rotating DJ’s taking over the bar later on at night. There’s over 15 games on offer and a tempting variety of drinks behind the bar!

4. Bowlero

Where: Atlantic Station

This backlit bowling alley in Atlantic Station is a striking addition to the awesome bars in the ATL. Smash some pins while sipping on a bowling-ball-sized fishbowl cocktail for a start, before heading to their totally tubular arcade for some nostalgic fun!

5. My Parent’s Basement

Where: Avondale Estates

My Parents’ Basement is wholesome place where you can drink, read comics, grub on nostalgic bites, and empty your pocket change into old gaming machines. The bar’s first iteration began as a pop-up by a group of friends, before they established the awesome brick and mortar bar and patio we know and love today!

6. Punch Bowl Social

Where: The Battery Atlanta

There’s so many fun games on offer at The Battery’s Punch Bowl Social. This arcade and fun house chain has cemented its mark on this list. The 25,000-square-feet of sheer awesomeness also includes multiple bars, virtual reality, ping pong, craft cocktails and kickin’ food!

7. Andretti Karting & Games

Where: Buford & Marietta

Not only is there an awesome arcade with over 100 games at Andretti, but there’s a two-level laser tag arena, bowling, 7D experience, and more! Including their beloved and totally insane electric karting track. The impressive location of the national chain opened earlier this year.

8. Puttshack

Where: The Interlock

This brand new crazy golf bar opened earlier this year too, measuring at 25,000 square feet with four tech-driven, “highly-competitive” mini-golf courses, powered by Trackaball technology. The ATL loves it so much that another location is on its way to Dunwoody!
