Atlanta is continuously reinventing the social scene and experience for the culture. The creators of this bi-monthly event, Tolden Williams and Stephanie Lindo, birthed this event out of their love for both Atlanta and Japanese culture. This event is hosted at Monday Night Garage in the West End.
Attendees can expect to experience a combination of Japanese culture and food at this event. Furthermore, guests are encouraged to dress in cosplay as well. Williams passion for anime and manga is what fueled his desire to educate others on the Japanese culture. His trip to Japan as a teenager also solidified his appreciation and passion for the culture.
Guests can expect to enjoy amazing food at this cultural immersion since it is overseen by Chef Doni Lukman of Atlanta Japanese restaurant Wagaya. Guests will enjoy complimentary Japanese snacks, like Yan Yan, Pocky, Hello Panda, and roasted seaweed. Japanese cuisine isn’t the only food offered at these events, will also include Phews Pies and The Real Mexican Vittles.
The event also makes sure to showcase Atlanta musicians and entrepreneurial businesses. DJ’s show their skills while a cosplay runway takes place. Winners of the runway competition either receive $100 gift card or a mystery bag full of anime goodies. Either way both participants and guests enjoy a unique experience.
This interactive event is sure to slowly take Atlanta by storm. Its unique mission and energy has already attracted the likes of music artist such as B.o.B who attended one of the events in the past and is occasionally known to continuously pop up at these events.
