All aboard! Yes, we know… it’s still summer, and we’re still enjoying all the amazing summer fun in the A. But that doesn’t mean we don’t have Halloween on our minds at least a little bit!
If you’re searching for the coziest adventure this Halloween, then you’ve gotta check out Blue Ridge Parkway’s iconic Trick or Treat Train, which runs through the Blue Ridge Mountains on Halloween night! Keep scrolling for all the details.
What is the Blue Ridge Railway?
The Blue Ridge Railway is a great way to experience Blue Ridge, whether you’ve been before or this is your first time. Rides begin at the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge, setting off on a 26-mile roundtrip adventure along the Toccoa River, to the towns of of McCaysville, Georgia and Copperhill, Tennessee.
There are lots of ways to enjoy the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, including:
- train rides
- the private Caboose ride
- locomotive cab rides (with the conductor!)
- a scenic rail bike
All trains depart from 241 Depot Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
The Trick or Treat Train
If you want to ride the Trick of Treat Train on Halloween night, you can choose between a the closed coach train ride or the open coach train ride. (The difference is open or closed windows!)
The train ride takes about 2 hours roundtrip, unless you want to extend your adventure two hours to explore the twin towns of McCaysville/Copperhill during a 2-hour layover.
