With the first days of fall only just beginning in the ATL, snow and winter weather probably isn’t on anyone’s mind quite yet… but we’ve got some updates about winter weather, so you can be ready for it!
What will winter be like in Georgia this year?
According to the Farmer’s Almanac, which has been a trusted source for weather predictions for two hundred years, “the Southeast and Atlantic Coast should experience a warmish winter, with above average temperatures.” The consensus for this winter is taht the temperatures will be at or slightly above average, and Atlantans can expect a lot of precipitation.
Patch, a local news service, also notes:
La Niña, a term that describes the periodic cooling of surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific, is expected to develop and continue to bring wet, cold weather to most of the country throughout winter, which begins with the winter solstice on Dec. 21. Meteorological winter begins Dec. 1.
