What will Atlanta’s women’s soccer team be called?

The club actually hasn’t been named quite yet. Atlanta’s NWSL club will be owned by Arthur M. Blank and operated by AMB Sports and Entertainment, joining the Atlanta Falcons (NFL), Atlanta United (MLS) and Atlanta Drive Golf Club (TGL) in Blank’s sports team portfolio.
As soon as we know the soccer team’s name, we’ll be THRILLED to share it with you!
When will Atlanta get its professional women’s soccer team?
Right now, the team is set to begin playing in 2028.
Of course, this will be after the city hosts the World Cup next year, keeping the hype for soccer going for even longer!
The National Women’s Soccer League also notes,
[Arthur M.] Blank’s investment in bringing women’s professional soccer to Atlanta will also include the development of a first-class training ground dedicated to the NWSL club and staff. Blank and AMBSE are committed to creating a championship environment with best-in-class facilities for its newest franchise and continuing the growth of the women’s game at the highest level.

Atlanta is the soccer epicenter of the United States, and the introduction of our professional women’s team is just another step on the road to everyone knowing it! The NWSL even notes: “Soccer’s growth and momentum in Atlanta is unmatched in America.”
NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman said in a statement,
Atlanta is a city that embodies the energy, diversity, and ambition that define the next chapter of the NWSL. From its passionate fan base to its deep sports culture, Atlanta has all the ingredients to become one of the league’s most dynamic markets. We are thrilled to partner with Arthur Blank and his exceptional team, whose commitment to building world-class organizations and community-driven impact aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of women’s soccer.
We can’t wait for our new professional women’s soccer team!
