We always love to hear success stories from people working to make our community a better place for everyone. One amazing story of creativity, passion, and love for the community is Jeremy “Amico” Amico’s amazing urban farm, located right here in the ATL!
Who is Amico?
Amico is from Indianapolis, but he really found his roots (pun intended) when he moved to Atlanta in 2017. Originally a sign language interpreter working within the Deaf Community interpreting and life coaching, Amico’s journey took him to art school in 2015.
During his time at art school, Amico became drawn to a particular flower–one that didn’t yet exist. His fascination with this flower in his mind led his creative work and artistry to move into botany, where he studied flowers and plants. His love for this flower bloomed into a passion for cultivation and food production to support the community. After working with Truly Living Well Urban Agriculture and learning under the mentorship of leaders on and off the farm, he began managing his own farm on Living Well, and thus, Amico’s Farm sprouted.
In his time as an urban farmer, Amico has grown over 10K lbs of food, and distributed it to the community.
