Atlanta is hosting the several matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the city is getting READY! From enhancements to MARTA, to new BeltLine extensions, and more… everyone is prepping to host thousands of tourists and guests for the World Cup, right here in our beautiful city!
One of the newest additions to the FIFA prep came when Banyan Street Capital announced a $4.5-million facelift for Downtown Atlanta’s iconic 50-story 191 Peachtree tower.
What’s happening to 191 Peachtree tower?
A new report from Urbanize Atlanta says,
designers say will soon create a new ‘front porch’ for the landmark building, blending modern and timeless aesthetics… [and] for the first time in the tower’s three-decade history, the owners are offering the possibility of placing signage atop the building for the right tenant.
The plans call for upgrading the dazzling seven-story atrium lobby and dining spaces, while still keeping the integrity of their original architectural features in place from Philip Johnson/Burgee Architects, including their flame-finished Rosa Dante granite and tinted glass.. Urbanize Atlanta says, “191 Peachtree’s grand lobby will see reimagined gathering areas, with a new bar patio for fine-dining Mexican restaurant Alma Cocina.”
This is also a part of the plan to revitalize Downtown Atlanta, which has suffered in recent years, especially after the Covid-19 Pandemic shut everything down.
